Student-Athlete Health Protection Policy

The OUA Head Therapists met on May 15th as a group to review the current Student-Athlete Health Protection Policy that was constructed and implemented in 2015 after approval of the document by OUA Athletic Directors.

The Student-Athlete Health Protection Policy represents the minimum standards for health care related to athletes playing within (OAU) sanctioned competitions and events.  These policies and procedures have been created based on existing standards, policies, and professional consensus statements, literature searches, and consensus building within the health community. It is a living document that develops as sport medicine and risk management evolves with scientific and societal changes.  It is reviewed annually by the OUA Head Therapists with recommendations put forward to the OUA Board of Directors.
